Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes. We must give the restaurants notice of how many people for whom to prepare food.
Can I bring my child on the tour?
Parents should assess the situation individually as to whether the tour is appropriate for their child. Please email us if you have questions.
Is there a waitlist?
If a scheduled tour is full and you would like to be added to the waitlist, please contact us.
What is the cancellation policy?
All ticket sales are non-refundable. The ticket represents a guaranteed space on the tour.
Do you ever cancel tours?
Tours run rain or shine. However, we reserve the right to cancel due to low enrollment, dangerous weather conditions, or other adverse circumstances beyond our control. In the case of cancellation, we will refund tickets or reschedule to another date or tour.
Do we just walk around and eat?
Absolutely not! The food tour combines information about the town with behind the scenes culinary insights, creating a unique, fun and informative experience. Your guide will provide information about history, culture, architecture, entertainment offerings, and both well-known and newer establishments.
How much food will we eat?
There will be at least five stops on the tour. While portions are tasting size, it will compare to a full meal at the end of the tour.
How far will we walk?
In 2.5 to 3 hours, we walk about 1 mile.
What is not included?
Alcoholic beverages and any additional items you order are not included but may be purchased individually.
Do you start and finish at the same place?
Within a few hundred feet, yes.
Where should I park?
There is plenty of parking within comfortable walking distance.
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes! Make sure to share it with us on Facebook or Instagram or leave it in a review!
How many people will be on the tour?
It varies, but the maximum amount of people for a tour is 12.
Do I need to tip?
Gratuities are appreciated; however, they are not mandatory. In the tourism industry it is typical to tip a standard gratuity of 15% to 20% of the retail price of the tour.
Can I shop during the tour?
While the opportunity may present itself, we generally ask that you wait until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule.
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please be sure to let us know if anyone in your group has a dietary restriction when you purchase your tickets. If we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs.
Who leads the tours?
The owner of Walk Eat Mount Vernon, Vicky Lambert, will be your tour guide. Vicky is a retired Mount Vernon City school teacher and local resident. Occasionally, someone else might fill in, but Vicky is the primary tour guide.
